I am a big fan of nature and wildlife, there are so many reasons behind this. First of all, I think we are part of nature, I feel that connection with all of it from trees to birds. Secondly, I feel relaxed when I am surrounded by nature. It teaches me how to control my emotions.
When I go to a new country, I always try to explore national parks or trails and avoid crowds in big cities.
So I am going to talk about outdoor items.
If you like road trips or camping, today’s topic is just for you.
Before I start talking, I would like to show you a website called ‘backpackinglight’, I wish I knew it before choosing outdoor items a few years ago. This website has a forum where you can read product reviews and know more outdoor activities.
When I go camping, I will take a stove and a tent with me. The tent can create a comfortable sleep environment, while the stove guarantees my food is safe to eat. I will show you a picture of my stove and tent, I have been using these two items for years, I am gonna tell you the pros and cons.
This is my first stove, Coleman portable propane grill.
Pros: It is equipped with a collapsible stand and wheels. So you can fold it up to save space. It has sliding side tables for keeping the ingredients handy, which is convenient when you are cooking. Besides that, it contains two stoves, providing more cooking options. For instance, you can use the left stove to make chicken curry, meanwhile, the right stove is used for barbecue.
I love the grill, it is sturdy and not too heavy compared to similar products. I like using it for short road trips.
Cons: It is difficult to clean the stains from the grill, especially in the backcountry where you can’t find water. It is heavier and takes more space than mini camping stoves. When I take a long-term road trip,it is common to drive more than 6 hours a day. I feel exhausted to use this grill. I prefer something small and easy to clean.
As for the tent, I own this 8-person fast-pitch tent for camping, it is spacious with two rooms. I have to admit it was an impulse buy. This tent is not practical. It takes time to assemble and disassemble all parts despite it is fast-pitch. And when packing, it is a nightmare, you need to put many efforts to squeeze it into an included carry bag.
If I could choose again, I’d like to buy a two-person pop-up tent. It saves lots of time and is suitable in many different situations, such as hiking, camping or road trips.
