The other day, I saw a Marvel’s movie-Avengers 3(Infinity War) at home.

I know I am falling behind the trends, you guys have already seen Avengers 4(End Game)which is showing at the moment.

But it is Ok, I am not a big fan of science fiction(sci-fi) movies. I don’t mind to spend some time watching previous Marvel’s movies.

So today We will talk about useful vocabulary and phrases about movies such as movie genre and you will learn how to buy movie tickets.

First of all, we will learn about different types of movies. This part will help you answer questions such as:

• What was the last film you saw? What kind of film was it?
• What kind of films do you like? what kind of films are you into?

My example:

Now we are going to have a look at how to buy a movie ticket.

Image you and your friend Kate are talking about Avengers 4, you say “Let’s catch a movie”, which implies let’s go to a cinema and watch a movie.

Please remember do not use “catch a TV” unless you mean someone is throwing a TV and you are supposed to catch it.

Now you and Kate go to a box office, you see the lines at the XXX theater are quite long.

Here I want to ask you a question, do you know why it uses at the theater instead of in the theater?

At the theater, it is more correct, because it refers to the building and vicinity, study at XXX university.

After 20 minutes, it is your turn.
The staff will say,
-Hi, How can I help you?
-I’d like two student tickets for the movie “Avengers 4”.
-For what time?
-at 6 p.m., please.
-That’ll be $10/That show is sold out.
-Are there any tickets available for other times?
-We have two seats available at 8.
-Can I have two tickets for 8 show?
